One fine Spring morning I went out to start my John Deere S130 tractor to get the first cut of the season in. As I turned the key, the engine would not crank, but rather, I received a humming noise instead. After popping the hood and ensuring I had gas in the tractor, I attempted to start it again, again, no luck. I took out the battery and figured that it might be the problem, but after testing the voltage, it was determined to not be the problem. After attempting to start it again with the cover off, I saw that the starter was not engaging properly. I pushed the starter up with a screwdriver and was able to cut my grass that day. A week or two later, I went to try again and the same problem. Ultimately, I purchased this starter and it was an exact match and perfect fit. The tractor cranks up better than it did when I first bought it 4 years ago which makes me wonder if I had a faulty starter to begin with. Either way, it was an excellent $50 spent.
