Aconitum carmichaelii ‘Spatlese’ seeds – ( Monkshood, Wolfsbane)
Description Picture thanks to https://www.jelitto.com. This plant has very pretty pale cobalt blue flowers which are of a good size . The flowers are produced on well branched heads in statuesque pyramids, with many side shoots to show off their beauty , and the dark green glossy foliage is also very attractive. This plant belongs to the Wilsonii group, whose plants are more branched than other aconitums. It will die down in winter , but comes up again reliably in spring . The plant is best grown in partial shade. They make excellent cut flowers, but be careful of the cut ends. Note that all parts of this plant are poisonous Sowing advice Sow spring or can be sown direct in autumn. Sow in trays or pots or direct Direct : Prepare a shady bed with plenty of compost. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed raising mix. Just cover with mix. .Keep moist Indoors: Seal in a plastic bag, and put into fridge, propagate at approx. 4°C and keep moist. After 1 month then move out of the fridge and keep moist. Germination should occur about 4 weeks after removing from the fridge. As each seed germinates move it to its own pot.
